Hello Guys. I'm putting together a '93 lx coupe with a 2.3. I had to replace the 3 wire large connector to the alternator. I hooked everything up and was in the process of starting the car. I noticed my fuel pump wasn't working. So, I was looking for the fuse. I was told the fuse was at the solenoid switch. That's when I noticed the fuse link to the alternator was melted. It had the 2 large black w/orange stripe wires and 1 brown wire in it. Can I replace that fuse link or is there something wrong?
Thanks in advance,
John

You can replace them but something caused it.did the connector burn up like they normally do on these cars?if so thats probably what caused it to pop.check all you wiring for bad spots and shorts

I noticed the insulation was scorched and opened flat with the wire burned in 2. Is it possible to cross the 2 black/orange wires at the alternator?

dose not matter if you cross them.when it burned it more than likely shorted out and popped the fuse link.
